Success – What Is It?

Success, Inspiration, Motivation, Goals, Accomplishment, Ideals, Dreams

Success can be defined by many people in many different ways. Success to one could be to become a millionaire or even a billionaire. and yet, success to another could be something like not smoking or drinking for a day.

The definition does not constitute the amount of success that has been achieved, but is independent of the person that defines it. Meaning, it is success if it is success to You.

I think Earl Nightingale said it well, “Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal or goal.” To me, that is success. So, if a homeless person that hasn’t eaten in 2 days finds a way to get some food in his stomach, that would be a success for him or her. If a hard working entrepreneur keeps his mind open to new opportunities that present themselves and has the next big idea or builds the next big enterprise, this would also be a success – to him.

Success, Motivation, Inspiration, Ideals, Goals, DreamsHow we define and identify success comes from what is important to us as individuals. It usually has a lot to do with where we place our values. And, our values are usually found in what we spend most of our time doing.

So if the above quote rings true for you, what are you doing to motivate and push yourself to that ideal or goal that you have for yourself? Where are you going? Do you know? And if so, how are you getting there? Because if you don’t know where your going, I hate to tell you, but you probably aren’t going anywhere.
